How to increase storage on your phone? You can only really increase the storage on your phone if you own an android device. Unfortunately, if you own an iPhone, you can’t Realistically get more storage unless you buy a new phone. The only ways to get more storage on an iPhone is to delete apps you don’t use, or you can buy iCloud storage, which means you can use it to store your pictures, documents, music, and apps, etc.

Other than that, there’s no other way. But If you have an Android, you can keep reading because there’s plenty of ways to increase storage with Android device depending if you can have SD cards inserted into your device if not there are also other ways you can do this.

How to increase storage on your phone without an SD card

Believe it or not, there are ways to increase your storage without having to use an external storage source such as an SD card, although an SD card is one of the best options but, if you don’t want to buy one or can’t afford one. There are workarounds for you to free up storage on your phone completely free. But if you do want to buy an SD card, I will leave a link to take you down to the bottom of the article, and I’ll show you how to purchase and install one into your phone. (How to use an SD card)

1: Delete unwanted apps

This tip is simple and basic but very effective you might already know of it but, if you’ve got apps that you don’t use, it’s time to get them uninstalled to free up some storage space for apps that could be useful and help you in your day-to-day life.

You can uninstall apps from your Android device by going into your home screen > settings > apps and notifications > scroll down the list to find the app you want to uninstall > delete it.

2: Delete/disable Bloatware

If you don’t know what Bloatware is, I’ll give you a quick rundown. Basically, It’s software that is pre-installed on the phone by the manufacturers when you buy it. For example, this happens on PCs also, when you buy them from shops, for example, PC World. Sometimes the Bloatware can be Useful like antivirus, but, in most cases, it can just slow down your phone, And it’s best to get rid of it to give you the best optimal perfprmance speed and free up some storage As well.

Go to the home screen > settings > Applications > Then find the apps you Haven’t installed yourself > Then disable the ones that you don’t want to use anymore.

3: Removing cached data

This is a helpful tip that can help you quite a bit. By removing your cached data on apps will not completely delete all their memory, but will only delete the files that it does not need to keep hold of anymore. All the files are just junk that can sometimes easily take up a Gigabyte of your storage. So it can be worth going into all of your apps and clearing the cached data.

Go to settings > storage and USB > cached data > Then a pop-up window will come up asking if you want to clear all the data and press yes.

4: Deleting/moving videos and pictures

This might be another obvious one, but you might not even have to delete your pictures or videos. It might be best if you have a PC or a laptop to plug in your phone and copy the photos and videos over. If you only have a few pictures and you want to put them onto your PC.

One way you can do it, which is the way I used to do it. Go to Facebook, and Facebook Messenger type your name and then go to send yourself a message. Then you can send the pictures onto your Facebook on your phone, then log into Facebook on your computer, then you’ll be able to save them directly to your PC. This method will only work for a few photos if you want to transfer a couple. This will not work for large amounts of pictures or videos.

How to delete pictures and videos: Go to > Gallery > Then select the images you wish to delete.

5: Download a memory saving app

Another way to save and clear up your memory is to get the GOM app on the play store. And it’s an amazing little tool, Basically what GOM does it take your images and videos and compresses the files without losing any of the data, so it makes the images and videos smaller and giving you more space while still keeping them.

Once you have installed the app, it will Automatically Scan and size all of your images and videos.

How to increase storage on your phone with an SD card

At the end of the day, the best way to increase your storage truly is by using an SD card, and If you don’t know what an SD card is, basically it is a small external hard drive for your phone that you can store pictures videos, etc. You can buy SD cards from amazon.

When you have your SD card whatever phone you have, look for a small hole on your phone, where it seems like there’s an outline of a small oval shape.

Get a pin or an earring or something very small and push it in to push out the tray. Then simply install the SD card that you have Bought.

Once you have installed the SD card into your Samsung device what you can do is go to settings and then applications > if you click on the app that you want to transfer over to your SD card if should we give you the option to move it to the card. Simply press on it and press, yes and it will transfer the data over And it really is as simple as that, and now you have more storage on your phone.
